For those that knew her, Joyce was a very special woman that touched everyone she met in a very personal way.  There was always comfort and humor for anyone in her company.  During her life she was surrounded by many close friends and family.  She enjoyed different styles of dancing, gatherings, card games with friends, and telling stories. She loved and cherished her children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything but loved and cared deeply for all of her close and distant family and friends.

Joyce was baptised in and attended St. Luke the Evangelist grade school. She met her husband Tom early in life at the age of 12 through her father. Later they met again and she married him at St. Lukes after graduating from Ursuline Academy in 1952. Their first son was born on the day Tom left for the Army in 1953. The couple travelled around for Tom’s enlistment with the Army. Eventually they came back to St. Louis and made a home for their five children. She dedicated her life to caring for them and any friend or family member in need. Two years before their last child was born, they bought Joyce’s dream home. Here they continued to raise their children, making sure they all went to catholic grade school and high school. Later Joyce would become sole caregiver to her father, a grandmother to many and get involved with the Red Hat Ladies. With the passing of her husband Tom in 2010 and her delicate health, her youngest daughter and family became her primary caregiver.  Joyce’s life began with love and ended surrounded by love.  Her final journey is to revisit all the loved ones who have passed before her.  She will be deeply missed and loved, always and forever.
