Fortified by the Sacraments of the Holy Orthodox Church and surrounded by family and friends, Andjelka Jakovljev (née Hrnjacki), 85, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025. Andja (also known as “Angie”) was born in Progar, Serbia to the late Zarko and Slava Hrnjacki.
Andja, beloved wife of the late Milenko Jakovljev; dear mother to daughter Jadranka (Douglas) Howard; dear baba to her grandchildren Thomas and Michael Howard; dear sister, teta, tejana, cousin, kuma and friend to many.
Andja was devoted to her family, her friends and her Orthodox faith. Many thanks/Mnogo Hvala to the St. Louis Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church community for the support and friendship shown throughout her 58 years of belonging to her church family.
Services: Visitation Monday March 3, 2025 at Holy Trinity Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 1910 Serbian Drive., 63104 from 9am – 10am.
Funeral service will begin at 10am immediately following visitation.
Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Andja volunteered her time & talents to the Holy Trinity Circle of Serbian Sisters and the Bishop Nikolaj Velimirovic Fund, 1910 Serbian Drive, St. Louis, MO 63104. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to these organizations.
