Caroline Giovanna Kuhlengel (nee Desemone) entered her heavenly home at the age of 79 on June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in St. Charles, MO.

Carol was born in St. Louis, MO, on September 24, 1945, to parents Charlie and Mary (Tucker) Desemone. Growing up in a close-knit Italian family, her family meant the world to her. She attended St. Joseph Academy, where she made lifelong friends and always enjoyed attending the reunions. Those who knew Carol would instantly realize the profound impact she would have on them, be it through conversation, her kind heart, or her infectious positivity and outlook on life. She touched so many people’s lives through her personality and writing, which she loved to do—writing several short stories, poems, and humorous limericks.

Carol worked in education, with jobs in HR, and also in alternative classrooms. She developed and implemented an educational program addressing bullying, utilizing her poem, “Turn It Around, Hands Down.”

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ted Kuhlengel; her children, Donna (Rick) Skornia, Brian (Angelia) Waltman, and Jeff Kuhlengel; grandchildren, Tyler (Maureen) Moretto, Gabriella and Sofia Waltman, Jesa and Jeia Kuhlengel; step-children, Matt and Stacy Kuhlengel; brother, Mel (Deborah) Desemone, and sister, Mary Ann (Joe) Eades. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Catherine
and brother-in-law Charlie.

Carol was a loving wife, mom, mom-in-law, step-mom, grandma, daughter, daughter-in- law, sister, sister-in-law, godmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend to many and will be profoundly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association.

VISITATION:  Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 4-8 p.m.

SERVICES:  Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 6303 Nottingham Avenue, St. Louis,  MO 63109 at 10:00 a.m.

Interment Calvary Cemetery.
