Dale Martin Jones, known as Marty to friends and family, passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born in December 1954 to Velma Jones (nee Hinkle) and Dr. Avery M. Jones, DDS, in St. Louis, Missouri. Marty was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Daryl Jones. Marty leaves behind his beloved sister, Candice Houser, as well as other family members and friends.

Marty graduated from Southwest High School. Among his many talents, he was a gifted guitar player. He was a member of several bands over the years and during those times was rarely seen without a guitar in his hands. He also enjoyed listening to Cardinal games on the radio, staying informed about political matters and discussing them with his friends and family. Marty enjoyed a successful career as a dental lab technician and owned a lab where he skillfully created dental appliances for many area dentists and their patients.

Marty was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. The Veterans Hospital in St. Louis provided him with excellent medical care and support while he was being treated for cancer, which eventually spread. Marty, his family and friends were grateful for the unwavering support of the Veterans Hospital staff as well as Vitas hospice care.

Marty was kind and gentle. He will be missed by his friends and family.

SERVICES:  Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
