James Christopher Janis passed away surrounded by his loving family March 15, 2023 at his residence. Born April 11, 1950 to the late Victor Janis and the late Rose (nee Kastner) Funk.
Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Nicolosi) Janis. Loving father of Jeffrey Janis, Jennifer Janis, and Jessica (Daniel) Ellison. Dear grandfather of Joshua Janis, Joseph “Joe” Janis, Olivia Janis, Aubrey Ellison, and Abigail Ellison. Loving brother of the late Victoria Bush, Michael Funk, and Cathy Funk.
James was one of a kind, he had a heart of gold and loved everyone, he was a hard worker and loved his wife and family with all his heart (including his Mama’s Pride Family).
His grandchildren were his pride and joy and they loved him so much. Dad/PaPa/Big Jim you will forever be missed but never ever forgotten. You can now breathe easy with no pain.
VISITATION: Friday, March 24, 2023 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
SERVICES: Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church 6596 Smiley Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 for a 10:00 a.m. mass.
