In Loving Memory of Jewel “Randy” Britton
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jewel “Randy” Britton, a devoted husband, proud Vietnam veteran, hardworking man, and beloved family member whose kindness and unwavering dedication touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Randy was the beloved husband of Judy Britton for 45 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment. Family was Randy’s greatest joy, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did.
Randy attended Northwest High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the honor, courage, and strong work ethic that remained with him throughout his life.
Randy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to his father, Jewel Britton, and his mother at birth, Inez Jackson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Twila Britton.
Randy will always be remembered for his remarkable work ethic. He believed that if a job was worth doing, it should be done right—or not at all. He took pride in every task and led by example, earning the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
When he wasn’t working, Randy enjoyed relaxing and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he made countless memories with family and friends.
One of Randy’s greatest blessings was his lifelong friendship with his best friend, Bill Walters. The two were truly two peas in a pod, sharing countless memories, laughter, and unwavering loyalty throughout the years. Their friendship was one that Randy treasured deeply.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Judy Britton; his son, Steven Britton; his stepson, Chris Carr; his siblings, Lola Williams, Lisa and Wes Terry, Lory and Stephen George, Gena and Jack Landfather, Aaron and Pam Britton, Dan and Wendy Britton, and Jason Britton; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Randy’s kindness, generosity, wisdom, and steadfast support will never be forgotten. Though his presence will be profoundly missed, the memories he created and the example he set will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to honor and celebrate Randy’s life and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
