Joan Rita Baker passed away peacefully May 31, 2025. Born January 20, 1940 to the late Willie Baker and the late Myrtle (nee Coats) Baker.
Devoted mother of Cynthia Drago, Corrina (Ken) Pyatt, Anthony Drago, and Paul (Kim) Drago. Loving grandmother of Anthony Paul (JoAnn) Drago, Angelina Drago, Krystina Drago, and Joe Drago. Beloved great grandmother of Andrew Drago, Zackery Drago, Lucia Drago, Nicholas Drago, Azorra Drago, and Donatello Drago.
Joan was a 1958 graduate of O’Fallon Technical High School with a degree in Fashion Design.
She was a great friend to many and loved by all.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Vincent “Vinny” Drago and one sister Jewel Baker.
VISITATION: Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 5 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Italia-America Bocce Club after visitation. Family has requested that family and friends dress casual and to wear your favorite St. Louis Cardinals gear.
As an avid animal lover, in lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to CHAMPS Assistance for Dogs 1968 Craig Rd. #200, St. Louis, MO 63146.

Joan was a delightful person, and it was a joy to meet connect with another g-granddaughter of Sena Baker Lynn! I’m going to miss our phone conversations and delving into our family history. Joan–you were one of a kind!
