Karl Michael Klein, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 59 on Thursday, July 26, 2024, surrounded by immediate family.

Karl was born in Waco, Texas, on April 25, 1965. Although proud to be born a Texan, Karl loved St. Louis and chose to spend most of his life living here. He attended Parkway North Senior High School and was an early and lifelong devotee of the role-playing worlds of Dungeons and Dragons.

At the age of 24, he joined the Army and served as a Signals Intelligence Analyst.  After he separated from the service, Karl earned his B.S. in Information Science from the University of Missouri at St. Louis and became an IT consultant.

Then Karl met Debbie Wade, the woman of his dreams who shared his love of people and the “Lou”. Karl and Debbie were a devoted couple who were always ready to have fun and to help others.  They enjoyed beach vacations and Missouri camping and raft trips with friends. Karl suffered many illnesses over the years, but Debbie was his sunshine and support until her passing in 2019.

Karl worked hard to stay positive for himself and to positively impact those around him. In recent years, his pain had grown yet he strove to keep on living on his own terms. We are grateful that Karl is now at peace and united again with his dear wife.

He is survived by his older sister Meg Johnston, younger brother Dan Scheef, and his father-in-law Garry Wade.

Karl is preceded in death by his wife, Debra K. Wade; his mother, Therese A. Scheef; and his father, Karl Michael Klein, Sr.
