
Lindell Purdy was born on April 28, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the fifth child of Joseph and Hattie Sue Purdy. He had three sisters: Lillian O’Neal, Lilly Mae Parker, Patricia Purdy and two brothers: Joe Purdy and Dennis Purdy. All have proceeded him in death except Patricia Purdy.
He graduated from Soldan High School on January 26, 1973 and later married Mary (Jenkins) Purdy on August 4, 1976. From their union, two children were born: Pamona Purdy and Damon Purdy.
Lindell proudly served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1984 as an electronics Technician. During his eight years of service, he received numerous military awards and developed a strong foundation in electrical engineering through his specialized training.
Following his military career, Lindell worked as an electronic technician for Varian Electronics in Palo Alto, California, where he calibrated cancer treatment machines. He later continued his career at Hewlett-Packard in Sacramento, California, applying his expertise in the field of electronics.
In the 1990s, Lindell confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, a commitment that brought him great comfort and peace. He enjoyed cooking and had a deep passion for audio and video technology.
Lindell passed away at Jefferson Barracks hospital on July 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM after a long illness. He is now at peace.
He will be missed by family and friends.
SERVICES: Friday, August 15, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Lindell will receive full military honors.
