Marie H. Tanner passed away on October 11, 2019 in St. Louis, MO at the age of 106. Beloved mother of Alfred D. (Valerie) Tanner. Loving grandmother of 5, 14 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a beautician until age 75, a member of The Covenant Methodist Church, member of the Eastern Star for 85+ years, driver for Meals on Wheels for 20+ years in the Carondelet area. South St. Louisians will remember Marie delivering meals in her bright yellow 1974 Volkswagon hatchback. Marie and her husband were boy scout leaders for their 2 sons.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Eugene J Tanner, son Eugene A. (Michele) Tanner, parents Alfred & Ida Theby, and sister Maude (Harold) Blechle.
VISITATION: Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Michel Funeral Home, 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139.
SERVICES: Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Michel Funeral Home. Interment St. Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, honorarium would be appreciated to Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home.

Sorry for the family’s loss. I remember Marie when she worked for my Mom in her Beauty Salon on South Broadway. Also remember Marie playing music on her organ. She was a very nice and kind lady. RIP Marie.
I am so sorry for your loss. Marie was a friend of my mother’s, Alma Schaller, for many, many years. She was very kind to my mother in her later years. Of course my mother was also very close to your grandmother Ida Theby from the Woerner Music Club. Marie was a wonderfully kind and generous and will be sadly missed.
