Martha Hicks Crimmins, 102, beloved wife of 66 years to Francis X. Crimmins (deceased); dear mother to Marty (Ann Tolin) Crimmins, Frank (Kim Underwood) Crimmins and Claire (Lee) Isselhardt; proud grandmother to Shawn Crimmins, Keith Isselhardt, and Robert Isselhardt; and great-grandmother to Emery Isselhardt, Ryan Isselhardt, Evan Isselhardt and Maurice Crimmins. Martha was the treasured daughter of Willis J Hicks and Thaddie Webster Hicks of Camp Hill, Alabama; sister to Mary Hicks (Carl) Robertson; and loving aunt to Mary’s children.

Martha was a proud graduate of Auburn University in Alabama. There she met the love of her life, Francis, who played football for the Tigers and then was a Marine pilot in WWII. She had several careers after college; home canning specialist, teacher, and dairy farmer. Eventually work took Francis and Martha to California, where she spent many happy years with the career of Mother. Francis’ work required another relocation when Falstaff Brewing brought the family to St. Louis in 1964. While in St. Louis, Martha found her calling with the Girl Scouts of Greater St. Louis, where she spent 18 years as a field organizer.

A special thank you to the many wonderful care givers who provided assistance and friendship to Martha. She received loving care at LSS Meramec Bluffs, Dolan Memory Care, and Sunrise of Webster Groves.

Services: Martha will be interred alongside Francis at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in a private service. Memorials may be made through contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.

ARRANGEMENTS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MICHEL FUNERAL HOME.
