Mary Lou Koons went to be with Jesus on November 13, 2020. She was 86 years old.
She is the beloved mother of five children; Jackie Ann Ayres (Dwayne), Bill L. King, Jr., Clifton Koons (Terry), David Koons and Susan Koons. Loving grandmother of Vince, Angie, Chrissy, Jason, Tony, Bill III, Clifton II, Meghan, Jessica, and Jennifer. Dear great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Beloved sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her.
Mary Lou had a love for children that was evident in the way she raised her family and the many children she helped raise throughout her life. Whether it was those she taught in Sunday school or those she cared for in her home day care.
Her passion was to share Jesus with all she met, and she was very active in her church. You would usually find her in the church office, leading a Sunday School class or Bible Study, helping in the food pantry or even preparing potlucks for her church family.
Mary Lou had a great sense of humor! She was always positive, always loving, kind and generous. Her other passions in life include gardening as she was fond of all kinds of flowers and bushes and a love for home-grown tomatoes.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring 2021.

As the oldest daughter of Mary Lu Koons I would like to say my mother was terrific she was kind caring and giving of everyone not just her family and always wanted to bring new people to Jesus and I know her crown in heaven is huge as her heart was here on earth my heart is broken but I know I will see you again someday mother I love you so much God bless you
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Susan, my dear sweet friend, your mom’s love for Christ was definitely passed onto you. May His love continue to envelop you and bring you joy, peace, and comfort.
My mother was the most beautiful person I have ever had the honor of knowing. She wasn’t perfect but she was as perfect as a human being could be. Myself , my brothers and sisters not only loved our mother we adored her. My mother was beloved. My mother loved children and always put them ahead of herself. Once I asked my mother how many children she had helped raised and she nonchalantly said oh at least over one hundred. She wasn’t joking. My mother was born with movie star good looks just like her sister. She was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. I was so blessed to have such a beautiful person to be able to call my mother.
R.I.P I Love you mom. I look forward to one day joining you in heaven. Mom , Give dad ,grandpa and grandma a hug for me. I Love You.
