
Mary Murphy-Metcalf, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Affton and a faithful member of Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church.
Mary was known for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and deep compassion for everyone she met—qualities that helped her form many long-standing relationships.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Mary was also a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to 87, all of whom were her greatest joy. Her life was centered around her family.
She was the beloved mother of Sheila (Gary), Scott, Keith (Jenny), Paul, and Sue (David). She was also the stepmother of Rick (Tina), Dawn, and Melissa (Joe).
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Metcalf; her sister, Gwen Cook; her brothers, John Kemp, Larry Jovanovic, and Leon Jovanovic; her daughter, Dana Frye; her daughter-in-law, Jo Murphy; and her grandson, Christopher Murphy.
Mary’s warmth and kindness touched every part of her home, and her family will always remember the strength, patience, and unconditional love she carried with her.
Her legacy is one of compassion, faith, and quiet generosity. Those who knew Mary will forever cherish her loving presence and the many ways she made the world around her better.
VISITATION: Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 4-8 p.m.
SERVICES: Friday, December 5, 2025 at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church 6737 S. Rock Hill Rd., Affton, MO 63123 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment: St. Paul Churchyard.
