Maureen Ann Schaefer (Foster), age 71 of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025. She was born April 20, 1953.
Maureen was a generous and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mark Schaefer.
Maureen is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Rosario) Catarinicchia; her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nico Catarinicchia; her sisters, Cindy (Dan) Barton, Susie (the late Jerry) Armstrong and Lucie (Greg) Francis; her brother, Jim (Susan) Foster.
Maureen graciously donated her body to SLU Medical School.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at Mary Mother of the Church on Kerth Road.
Maureen’s family would like to thank the nurses at Mercy South (5th Floor) and Mercy Hospice for giving her loving care.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House and Multiple Sclerosis Society.

I’m glad I got to “sit” for Suzy a couple times when she was little. My daughter Joyce & friends caroled for grandma Marjorie in Dec. 1996. It seems Marjorie had a special love for Jesus’ Mother Mary, & perhaps Reenie did, too… prayers for all of you who have loved her & have suffered the loss of other family members also. May they rest in God’s merciful Peace.
I will miss you forever.
