Melvin Paul Jenkins, 79 of House Springs, MO, died Monday, February 22, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis due to heart complications.

He was born September 25, 1941, son to John and Mary (Kritzon) Jenkins of St Louis MO.

Mel is remembered by all who loved him as a truly fun and cheerful person to be around.  He always had kind words to give or would extend his help to anyone in need, at any time.  His most favorite activity was hunting; deer, rabbit, turkey or squirrel.  What ever was in season, you could be sure to find him in the woods.  There wasn’t much that could keep him from a hunting season. If it wasn’t time to hunt you would find him at a local pond catfish or crappie fishing.   Mel provided for his family over the years as a self-employed painter, working until his body couldn’t take it anymore in 2006.

In retirement Mel cherished time with his family.

He is survived by his children; Michael (Kristine) Jenkins of Foristell, MO; Melissa (John) Duerr of House Springs, MO; and Melinda (Brett) Danielson of House Springs, MO.  6 Grandchildren; Behle, Keaton (Alyssa), Brent, Teala, Braylee and Brock.  1 Great Granddaughter Charlie Jenkins.  1 brother Leonard Jenkins of Lake Saint Louis, Mo, 3 Sisters; Joyce Snyder of St. Louis, MO, Judy Jenkins of Afton, MO and Sue Hoganmiller of Arnold, MO.  Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father John Jenkins, mother Mary (Kritzon) Jenkins, Brother Dennis Jenkins, Son Dennis William Jenkins and one granddaughter Sydney Danielson.

His body will be cremated at Michel Funeral Home with a private celebration of life to be held at a later date.
