Susan A. Murray, 71 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved husband Mike, family, and friends on June 17th.
Sue was born on November 2, 1952 to Paul and Floy (Jackie) Murray in St Louis Mo.
She is survived by her two brothers, Michael (Lora) and Richard (Carol) Murray. She was the dear aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, big sister, and friend to many.
Sue earned a Doctorate in Counseling and spent the majority of her life helping others. She assisted individuals with disabilities as Counselor for Vocational Rehabilitation and worked fervently for those with chemical dependencies, the deaf, persons living with AIDS, and/or brain injuries. She touched the lives of hundreds in our community in her professional role.
Sue loved her orange cat(s) and dogs, following in her mother’s footsteps as an animal advocate. She made time for everyone, especially her extended family including her nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and big sister Maria McCauley. She will be missed by her many friends always maintaining contact, and famous for her lunch calendars! She was an avid reader, advocate of progressive causes and one who was comfortable speaking her mind!
In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Humane Society or Mid America Transplant Services.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Friday, July 19th, 2024 at Wildwood Hotel 2801 Fountain Place, Wildwood, MO 63040 from 1-4 p.m.
ARRANGEMENTS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MICHEL FUNERAL HOME
We are heartbroken for Mike and family. Susie and I were work colleagues in St. Louis and then good friends for many years after. We have fond memories of the trips she and Mike made to visit us in Florida and of her kindness, wit, and glowing soul. She had room for everyone in her heart. Mike, we are holding you in our hearts today and always.
Susie was a sweetheart! It was a pleasure knowing her and spending time with her and Mike! It is a great loss of a super lady!
