Virginia “Ginny” Althans

Virginia “Ginny” Althans, 57 passed away March 23, 2025 in St. Louis, MO.

Ginny was a long-time oncology nurse at Children’s Hospital until being disabled, and she exhibited a kind and loving nature by continuing to use her nursing skills to help her family and friends for the remainder of her life.  She and her husband Ken were married 26 years, and recently celebrated their marriage by taking a week-long trip to Cancun.

Ginny was the daughter of Carl and Margaret Althans,  daughter-in-law of Norbert and Marie Kellner, and younger sister of Josie Althans (Pritchard).  Ginny is survived by her husband Ken, sister Josie and her brother-in-law George, Ken’s siblings Leslie Polokonis and Leslie’s husband Chuck, Mark, Mike, Matt and his wife Barb, Kurt, Lisa Oakes and her husband Ken, Laurie Adams and her husband Joe, in addition to 14 nieces and nephews as a well

The memorial will be held Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139.

It is requested that floral arrangements  come from Always in Bloom 3300 Watson Rd. or Russell Florist, 5001 Gravois Rd.
