William ” Willie ” Enrique Ortega of St. Louis, Missouri, was born on October 20, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri to Antonia (nee Guerrero) Minks and entered into rest on March 4, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patty Ortega, his mother Antonia (Gregory) Minks, his brother Kenny Gentile, and his brother-in-law Kevin Corder.
He is survived by his significant other Teresa Scott, his daughter Angel Ortega; his 3 granddaughters Haliey, Lainey, Kaliey Joyner; his 3 sisters Connie (Whiskey) Neuone, Tina Ortega, and Jessica (Shane) Ortega, his big brother Mark Soughers, and many other family members and friends.
Willie was a loving husband, partner, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle and friend to many. He was an incredibly loving father, who doted on his daughter and granddaughters. From a very young age, he worked extremely hard; his incredible work ethic led him to becoming a jack-of-all trades. Willie would use his skills and abilities to help anyone out at a moment’s notice without the expectation of anything in return. Willie was one to never back down a challenge. He loved to play cards, and anyone who knew him knew he hated to lose. For years, Willie battled lung cancer. Even in his final moments, he would tell people that he would beat it. And he did. He never allowed it to take his kindness, his love, his humor, or his spirit from him. Will will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends, for his sense of humor, and for his fighting spirit.
A memorial service will be held at The Fox Glove, 4611 Macklind Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63109, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2 p.m.
