In loving memory of Antonino (Nino) Casamento
Our beloved father Antonino Casamento (Nino) passed away peacefully in his home on December 20th 2023 at the age of 86 after battling Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease for a decade.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucia Madonia Casamento, daughters Josephine Patellaro, Nancy Munna, and Rita Casamento-Liedel and their spouses Benedetto Patellaro, Ignazio Munna and Marc Liedel. Grandfather to eight grandchildren, Julian Munna, and the late Stefania Munna. Simone, Matteo, Luca and Tommaso Patellaro; and Julia and Sebastian Liedel.
Antonino (Nino) was born in Monreale, PA in Sicily, Italy on April 1st 1937 to Giuseppa Serafina Gagliano and Vincenzo Casamento. He was the third born child out of six siblings. Married the love of his life Lucia, in 1965 and in 1973, moved to the USA with this wife and two young daughters (Josephine & Nancy) to chase the American dream. When they moved to this country they settled in St. Louis, MO in the beautiful Italian community of “THE HILL” where everything seems familiar just like back home and were able to build a happy life.
Antonino’s profession was a tailor, he was a master of his craftsmanship and proud of his work. He was a very hard worker, and his job skills were high in demand. He worked for posh department stores in St. Louis, such as Sacks Fifth Ave, Neiman Marcus, Nordstom and other high-end boutique stores.
Antonino’s was a very bright man, he had many hobbies and talents, he loved gardening, made his own wine, was an adamant poker player, read history books, loved political discussions and had a passion for Opera. He was gifted with a beautiful voice and we remember him singing often.
We will always carry our father’s memory in our hearts and pray that he is at peace in heaven.
VISITATION: Thursday, December 28th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 5130 Wilson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 9-10 a.m. with mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. All friends and family are welcome.
