Alfred “Butch” Horman, 93, died June 17, 2023, at St. Andrews at Francis Place in Eureka, MO.
Born March 1, 1930, in Allenville, MO, son of the late Frederick and Mayme Griffin Horman.
Butch entered the U.S. Army on July 11, 1947, just prior to the Korean War and was honorably discharged on July 3, 1950. After serving, he returned home where he met his wife, Adele Horman. They were married on December 30th, 1950. Eventually, Butch and Adele made the decision to move to St. Louis where prospects for work proved more beneficial. He pursued a career as an automotive technician during his working years. While in retirement he dedicated much of his time tending to his lawn and garden and helping his children raise his growing number of grandchildren.
He was a loving father to four children, Kenneth (Patricia) Horman, Randall (Sandra) Horman, Steven Horman, and Susan (Eric) Willenbrock. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren: Kenneth’s sons; Joseph (Angela) Horman, Anthony, Johnathan (Laura): Randall’s sons; Jason (Krista), Jeremy (Megan): Susan’s daughter and son; Kristin & Eric Willenbrock, and Steven’s daughter, Stephanie Horman.
Dear brother of James Horman and Ina Eftink.
Alfred is preceded by his wife Adele Horman; siblings Robert Horman, Larry Horman, George Dewey Horman, Benjamin Horman, Alice Kiefer, Aileen Feilner, and Dorothy Horman.
VISITATION: Friday, June 30, 2023 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
