Daniel “Danny” M. Drago, Sr. passed away suddenly February 26, 2021 at the age of 80. Born September 30, 1940 to the late Mariano Drago and Rosemary (nee DeVaney) Drago.

Danny proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong resident of The Hill neighborhood and would occasionally be seen walking to Bartolino’s, DiGregorio Italian Market, Italia-America Bocce Club or other Hill businesses. Danny had a passion for dogs and enjoyed giving neighborhood dogs treats on his daily walks.
Danny was part of Local 682 and retired from the Teamsters union in 2010. Danny was a member of The Legion Hall, past member of the City Economic Board, 40/8 club, past President of the Italia-America Bocce Club, and founded the Bocce Special Olympics in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
He had many passions but what was most important to him was the compassion for his family, friends, and Bocce.

We are truly sorry for your loss. Danny was one of the first members we met at the IABC. His passion for Bocce and the Bocce Club was radiating. We always loved sitting with him, enjoying a glass of red wine and listening to Danny tell us about how the Club came up with all that it has today. He had such a way to make you feel welcomed and proud to be a member. The last 2 years we enjoyed volunteering with Danny at the IABC Golf Tournament. He will be missed and his Legacy will live on through his family for many generations. Diane Callier and Jim Sanders
Danny was the BEST! My brother Glen and I were proud to usher with him for the past 9 years at St. Ambrose Church on THE HILL for the Saturday 5 PM Mass. He always had a story to tell and was a great historian for THE HILL.
We will miss him.
Glen and Dan Schaeffer
