Gail “Gummy” Adele Dillard
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share with you the passing of our beloved “Gummy” Gail. She passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Monday January 2, 2023 at her home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dear and beloved mother of James Miller (Sherri), Jeanne Kiefer, Jim Trendle, and Julie (Glenn) Wrinkle. Dear and Beloved “Gummy” of Alex (Tony), Michol, Rachel, Hannah, Leah, Gracie, Skylar, and Gracie T. Loving Great-Grandmother to Adalynn, Landon, and Wyatt. Dear and beloved “Gummy” of Maya, Sean, Gabe, and Ethan. Dear friend of many.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Marie Suliber, her husband David Dillard, her son-in-law Michol Kiefer, and her daughter-in-law Evelyn Miller.
Gail was born and raised in South St. Louis and attended St. Anthony of Padua’s Catholic Grade School and High School. She had a great love and talent for knitting, crocheting, and needlepointing. She was a quiet and kindhearted woman who dedicated her life to her family and God and simply enjoyed just being in their presence. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by her family, friends, and her beloved dog and companion Ashley.
Visitation will be on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua’s Church at 3140 Meramec Street, St. Louis, MO 63118. A Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua’s Church. A Committal Service to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:45pm. A Celebration of Life Luncheon to follow at the Marine Corp League, Detachment 183, at 7922 Croydon Street, St. Louis, MO 63123. Family and friends are all invited to come and share memories and stories.
Gail was a very passionate member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary, Detachment 183. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail’s memory to the Marine Corp League Auxiliary, Detachment 183, at 7922 Croydon Street, St. Louis, MO 63123.
